AI-Powered App for Cosmetic Procedures
This project aimed to develop an AI-driven app for U-Biotic customers. It allows users to take selfies, apply cosmetic enhancements, and preview their altered appearance. If satisfied, users receive a list of partnered practitioners specialising in the chosen procedures. This case study outlines Communere's strategy for overcoming challenges for a successful outcome. Communere faced critical challenges in training the AI for realistic results and ensuring efficient coding for a seamless user experience. Ethical and legal considerations were also addressed, including concerns about promoting unrealistic beauty standards and compliance with relevant cosmetic procedures and privacy regulations.
A systematic approach was employed, comprehensively understanding requirements before AI development. It was noted that automatic, symmetrical selfies taken at a specific distance with adequate lighting produced optimal results. An evaluation feature was integrated into the AI to assess user selfies on the server. If approved, beauty procedures could be applied; otherwise, users received guidance to meet the app's criteria. Rigorous testing ensured accuracy, user-friendliness, and speed.
The final AI-powered app achieved remarkable accuracy, seamless usability, and high speed. The process felt almost real-time, with the AI's efforts imperceptible. Users gained an engaging way to explore cosmetic procedures, visualising their potential appearance changes and discovering specialist practitioners. Communere's approach proved successful, leaving U-Biotic highly satisfied with the outcome.
